Writing scripts is a challenging and passion-filled task, essential to the success of any audiovisual piece. It requires the ability to build compelling stories, engaging characters, and dialogue that captures the audience’s attention. The scriptwriting phase is a crucial part of the creative process as it transforms an idea into a structured visual narrative.
The transition from script to storyboard turns the written narrative into detailed visual representations that guide the production. The process begins with the script, which defines the plot, dialogues, and actions. From there, the storyboard is created — a series of sequential illustrations or images representing each key shot or scene. This step visualises how the action will unfold on screen, the positioning of the characters, and the elements in each scene while facilitating planning for filming and direction.
