In 2016, he presented La mort de Louis XIV, which received the Jean Vigo Award and seven nominations for the Goya Awards. In 2019, his film Liberté won the Jury’s Special Award at Cannes. In 2022, he directed Pacifiction, acclaimed as the Best Film of the Year by Cahiers du Cinéma, and also won the Louis Delluc Award. Additionally, the film received nine nominations for the César Awards, of which he won for Best Actor and Cinematography. In 2024, Albert Serra won the prestigious Golden Shell at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for his documentary Tardes de soledad.
